A bit about the founders.

The story is about two indie label owners joining forces. Susan John of A Sunny Disposition and Sudha Sekhar of Madras Motifs come together with a collective experience of 10-12 years experience in the craft of bagmaking in the  form of Subr. 

Why is making so important to you?

From the very earliest points in our lives, we have all created something. Whether it having been a painting you did with your fingers or a story you wrote, no matter the media or conception of the idea, you have taken your ideas and formed a physical representation of those thoughts that have been circling in your head, waiting to be unleashed.

For us, that creative outlet is sewing. Creativity is a method in which one can express themselves in order to show the world that this is what they love to do and is something that they enjoy doing. And a world without the power to create and express themselves is a world that is black and grey, with no emotion and imagination to be found.

Your work space.

Somethings are best left unspoken about. Both creators thrive in an organized mess.

What is currently on your work table? 

Bits and bobs of past projects, a few iterations of something in the future and a giant bolt of stripes fabric that is gonna be turned into a laptop bag.

What is your personal favorite pick from your SUBR right now? And why?

We are loving our options in workbag. Some can easily go from Boardroom to Bar, and some more can easily slide from being an everyday bag to a weekender.
