Tell us a bit about yourself.

Trained in Fine Arts and Jewellery Design, Sharon Idiculla works from her home studio, calling her work a great stress-buster!!! Drawing inspiration from the materials themselves, she experiments with the different techniques of beadwork and wirework, always striving for unique and elegant designs.

Tell us about your creative venture. 

“I tried out beading on a whim while on holiday and got hooked! I now experiment with different techniques to try and make unusual pieces. I love working with wire because when working with wire, I can get some very unexpected results!! With two young children, I don’t make any pieces that involve soldering (or fire!). “

“I also work closely with a lot of my clients and make custom jewellery, according to each person’s requirements. That takes a lot of time, but it is something I really enjoy as the end result is a piece that is just for them. “

Unique, elegant and affordable, the handcrafted jewellery of Ssara Designs brings together sterling silver and semi-precious beads in designs that every woman can wear and enjoy. Stones like rose quartz, turquoise, onyx, lapis lazuli, malachite, aventurine, garnets and labradorite are combined with sterling silver and Swarovski crystal to create these unique pieces. Influenced by a design philosophy that combines traditional Indian designs with contemporary western styles, the jewellery can be mixed and matched with different clothing styles. Each piece is designed and hand made by Sharon.
